True York is an open social gathering in York.
You meet new people, take part in three simple activities together, and what happens from there depends on who's in the room.
You might have lived in York all your life, just moved here, or simply be passing through. Whoever turns up, the idea is the same: to spend some time with people you might not otherwise have met.
You don't need to prepare anything or know anyone beforehand.

Everyone answers playful prompts, then tries to work out who said what. You compare guesses, discover things about one another and play again — mixing into new groups when there's more than one.
Creative Exchange
Each person starts with a simple idea. The ideas move around the group, changing as they go, then become starting points for something people want to make or do.
Awards
Everyone suggests awards for one another — sincere, ridiculous, observant or anything else that fits. At the end, each person chooses one from their sheet to share with the room.
And afterwards?
Afterwards, people can choose to share something that came out of the gathering — a photograph, video, piece of writing, artwork, project, idea or something else.
